Philippa and Anna got me thinking about it last week, and seeing as it's shaping up to be an otherwise unproductive day anyway, might as well jump on the bandwagon...
1) What was I doing 10 years ago?
I was 17 and I'd just graduated high school, the better part of which I was miserable, so I was pretty happy about putting it behind me. I was temping as an administrative assistant at my dad's office for the summer, to make some spending money for college. Around this particular day, I was probably gearing up for my freshman orientation session at Boston University--it would be my first-ever experience in a hall dorm, the kind with (gasp!) shared bathrooms, and I was positively terrified.
2) What are 5 things on my to-do list for today?
1. Go for a run
2. Pick up my car from the shop (sadly, it was wrecked two weeks ago)
3. Stop by Sephora on the way home to buy things I really shouldn't
4. Watch Girls Just Want to Have Fun for the eleventeenth time (I managed to catch it on the DVR this weekend after having not seen it for about fifteen years)
5. Finish the back of Demi
3) Snacks I enjoy:
Dark chocolate, cookies and cake (preferably for breakfast, but that's only allowed on the weekends), baby carrots with hummus, olives, raspberries, popcorn, pistachio ice cream
4) Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
1. Quit working
2. Pay my parents back for my college & graduate education
3. Send said parents on a trip around the world
4. Send myself & H on a trip around the world
5. Move to England or California
6. Bankroll a network of veganic farms
5) Places I have lived:
Rockledge, FL
Sterling, VA
Boston, MA
Allston, MA
Los Angeles, CA
Brighton, MA
Washington, DC
6) Jobs I have had:
Candy striper
Hospital billing department intern
Administrative assistant
Retail sales girl
Student IT support specialist
Research assistant in a biomechanics lab
Regulatory intern at a patient monitoring device company
Crepe spinner
Clinical research engineer at a cardiac device company
(My current one stays undisclosed for now.)

oooh this is fun, and I'm dealing with downtime at work too! I'm totally doing this on my blog (knittingbybicycle.net)
I'm currently obsessed with baby carrots and hummus. I can't get enough!
At least it's kinder to me than the Peanut Butter Fudge Explosion ice cream obsession of a month or so ago.
Love your blog--such beautiful photos and inspiring knitting. Inspired, I posted a meme today.
Sorry to hear about your car! Hope you weren't hurt when it was totaled! Have to pick mine up tonight too (breaks seized on the highway and started smoking!). Glad to hear someone else eats veggie cake for breakfast (now if only I could restrict it to weekends only!) :p
i did the meme! i think it's the third post on my blog. i'm sorry to hear about your car :( i feel your pain.
thanks for the inspiration! for some reason this meme seemed like less work than some others.

nice! I've done the meme, but I hadn't seen that last job question before. It's pretty interesting!
OK, I read "candy stripper" and thought it didn't compute...the world is a funny place when you wake up at 3 a.m.
crepe spinner! sounds like a fun job! I jumped on the bandwagon with you...if you've got some free time, you should try the flickr meme, that was a fun one too!
I do enjoy reading these - gives so much insight. Thanks for sharing, Parikha ~ I may give it a try :)
