pollen8 swap

Remember the somewhat failed tote bag for my quilting bee swap? I replaced it with a sewing machine cover that, admittedly, I had a bit of difficulty parting with. My swap partner was Yahaira, for whom the colors & fabric seemed perfect. I'd been hanging onto those dandelions for a long time, waiting for the right project, and here it was.

There's no pattern, per se; just a straightforward, rectangular backing-batting-top sandwich with some grosgrain ribbon ties.

I had a bit of fabric leftover, from which I eked out a little bonus basket about the right size for holding a few sewing notions.

That's the second fabric basket I've made, and I still think the pattern is genius.

  1. That is so simple - have made an overlocker cover, but to tell you the truth quite cumbersome to put on and off - this idea is much better. Thanks for posting and I LOVE those fabric baskets.

  2. But it's so perfect and pretty. I know how hard it can be to part with a fabric or fiber you adore.
