Thank goodness for Etsy. Specifically, thank goodness for the wealth of well-designed, non-cheesy downloadable clip art to be found there. Because sometimes a mom waits until Friday to realize that her one-year-old son needs 20 valentines for school on Monday, and nothing short of a vector valentine robot can save the day.
I used this cookie recipe, and this icing recipe. The cookies are the perfect texture for this sort of thing, though the flavor's pretty bland, as most of the reviewers before me had warned--I really wanted to add some almond extract, but because I was baking for toddler palates, I just doubled the vanilla & added a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg instead. D scarfed down one after breakfast and even demanded seconds; for a kid who has flatly refused pretty much everything else I've ever baked for him, that's high praise.
Happy Valentine's Day!

Adorable! I had no idea that you could purchase clip-art on Etsy!
